Mercedes W222 S63 AMG Facelift Project
A real Onestop 22 project showing how a 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class W222 was updated with later S63 AMG exterior styling and lighting.
A 2015 W222 S-Class
The vehicle for this project was a 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class W222. The car already had the proportions and presence of the W222, but the owner wanted a later S63 AMG facelift-style exterior.
The project was therefore about changing the exterior appearance while keeping the vehicle recognisable as a W222. The work was planned around the front, side and rear sections rather than treating a single component as a standalone modification.
A More Current Exterior Design
The goal was to give the 2015 W222 a later S63 AMG facelift direction, with the front and rear styling working together as one complete exterior update.
The main visual changes were planned around the front bumper and grille, headlights, side skirts, rear bumper, diffuser and LED tail lights. Matching the different sections was important because the finished result needed to look consistent from every angle.
What We Changed on the W222
Front Bumper
The front bumper was replaced as part of the facelift-style exterior update and became the main starting point for the new front-end design.
Front Grille
A grille designed to accommodate the vehicle's ACC equipment was selected for the updated front section.
Front Headlights
The headlights were updated together with the front-end components, helping the lighting and exterior design follow the same direction.
Side Skirts
Side skirts were included to connect the revised front and rear sections and avoid the appearance of an unfinished front-only conversion.
Rear Bumper & Diffuser
The rear bumper and diffuser were changed to continue the updated exterior design through to the back of the vehicle.
LED Tail Lights
Updated LED tail lights completed the rear section and added the matching lighting change to the overall project.
One W222, New Direction
Once the front, sides and rear were brought together, the car had a much more consistent later-model appearance. The updated headlights and grille changed the first impression of the vehicle, while the rear bumper, diffuser and LED tail lights carried the same idea through the back.
The side skirts helped connect both ends of the car, which was important for this type of conversion. Instead of looking like a collection of separate parts, the finished W222 reads as one complete exterior project.

For a similar conversion, we recommend providing the vehicle model year, VIN and current equipment configuration so compatibility can be checked before ordering.
Why the Complete Package Matters
With a project like this, the individual parts are only one part of the job. The front, side and rear sections need to make sense together if the finished car is going to look right.
On this W222, the front bumper and grille created the biggest visual change. The headlights then continued that change into the lighting, while the side skirts and rear components kept the design consistent around the vehicle.
That is what we liked about this project. The result did not depend on one dramatic modification. It came from several exterior changes being planned and completed as one vehicle-wide update.

Another W222 Conversion
The W222 platform can be updated in different directions depending on the vehicle and the desired result. Our Maybach project is a separate example of how the same S-Class platform can be approached differently.
A Real W222 Facelift Project
This 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class W222 was updated with S63 AMG facelift-style exterior components, including front and rear bodywork, lighting, grille and side skirts.
The finished vehicle shows why coordinating the complete exterior matters. The result is a W222 with a later, sharper appearance while retaining the proportions and character of the original platform.
